Parmigiani Fleurier brought their 2024 novelties to Singapore, and we were privileged to host a dinner event with our Deployant Friends. Here is a brief report of the event.
TGIFriday: Parmigiani showcases new watches in a Deployant Event in Singapore
We had the great pleasure to be the first in Singapore to host a dinner session for our Deployant Friends to view the latest watches from Parmigiani Fleurier. We began the evening at the Presidential Suite of the Singapore Hilton Hotel with the customary champagne cocktails and a dinner buffet. With the guests mingling as they looked at the novelties which were presented.
The relationship with Parmigiani has been a long and fruitful one, as I had done some work for the maison way back in 2011, before I started Deployant. And thus, intimately familiar with the brand. Parmigiani is one of the powerhouses of the industry, with capabilities to make almost the entire watch in-house within the companies which are part of the group.
With Quadrance et Habillage making dials, Les Artisans Boîtiers SA making cases, Vaucher making movements, Atokalpa making components and is one of the most important sources for escapement assemblies in the industry, and Elwin specialising in turning and parts manufacture. These five subsidiaries are relatively independent, and supply the industry with their expertise. They make cases, dials, escapement components and even whole movements to many marques in the industry at various quality levels as demanded by those clients. And, of course, as part of the group, they also supply the highest level quality to Parmignani Fleurier whose watches are made exclusively within the group.
The new Toric collection was shown, and this is the first unveiling of this new collection in Singapore. The carnet collection had just arrived in Singapore noon of the same day.
The guests also had a look at the novelties in the Tonda collection, including what was to become the hot favourite of the evening – the new Tonda no date. They also had a preview of 6 new watches which are still under embargo.
After the guests have had the opportunity to handle, feel, wear the watches. We created a series of video clips of the event as well as the guest reactions to the pieces which were their favourites from the evening. Here are what some of the guests have to say about their favourites (YouTube video):
And we ended the evening with more wine and interesting conversations. Thanks to Parmigiani Fleurier Singapore, Theodore Panos and Asha Langdown for trusting us to showcase the novelties for 2024. To our guests for attending and your enthusiasm. And we are looking forward to the next one.
