Commentary
The novelty (in released in August 2024) is based on the Luminox Master Carbon SEAL Automatic Series. We carried a comprehensive review of the first of the Master Carbon SEAL Automatic in 2018 at its release.
Two standouts from the ‘Wave Crest” which makes special from the standard release. The first is the dial. The waves look very organic and has a 3 dimensional quality made by stamping with a mould. This same technique is used for the ECO #tide Series – 8903.ECO series, but with a different motif. The pattern is reminiscent of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M. The Omega dial is ceramic and laser ablation is used to create the motif. Also, on the Luminox ‘Wave Crest’, the waves have equally sized raised and trough sections, while on the Omega, the raised lines are thinner with the rest of the dial sculptured by laser ablation to make a positive relief. Aesthetically, we prefer the waves on the ‘Wave Crest’ dial, as it appears more balanced.
The black dial is set with white markers which are Light Technology tritium gas tubes. The hour, minutes and seconds hands also carry these gas tubes. The tubes appear like white bars in good light but glows brightly in two colours in the dark. This excellent lume is the expected standard for Luminox watches. The space between indices from 12 o’clock to 3 o’clock carries the Luminox mantra ‘Every Second Counts’ in white text over a red arc, and this emphasises the action oriented nature of the watch.
The second unique specification of the ‘Wave Crest’ is the strap, which is a collaboration with Delugs, a Singapore based strap and accessories brand. The strap is in a black with punch-outs to reveal a red inner lining and is made of rubberised leather. This echoes the black and red colour scheme of the rest of the watch.
The CARBONOX™+ case remains unchanged, as is the Sellita SW 220-1 movement that it carries. As with the standard edition, a sapphire case back shows the movement.

The Luminox ‘Wave Crest’ Limited Edition features a wave-patterned dial design with the mantra ‘Every Second Counts’, and the strap is designed and hand-made by Delugs, a local Singapore-based watch straps and accessories brand.
