Commentary

Another interesting collaboration anniversary watch by Sincere. This one is with Chopard. And the base watch is the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25, which we were very impressed during our comprehensive review back when the model was released for Chopard’s 25th Anniversary in 2021. Read the full review here.

The only difference in this release is the dial. The dial retains its grand feu enamel production but now instead of the pure white dial, it is now in a magnificently rich burgundy hue. The markers on the dial are also in grand feu enamel, as with the 2021 release, but instead of being in black enamel, is now rendered in white. We are told that achieving an even burgundy tone is particularly challenging.

Otherwise the watch remains the same as with the 2021 release. Instead of 18k rose gold, this novelty’s case is now in 18k white gold, and as with all Chopard cases is ethical and made in-house in their own facility in Meyrin. The combination of the white gold case contrasts beautifully with the rich burgundy dial.

The movement remails unchanged and is the L.U.C 98.06-L, which is as magnificent as they come. And this time, as with the other Sincere 70th Anniversary releases, come with the Sincere Fine Watch logo etched onto the sapphire crystal.

Release information

Commemorating Sincere Fine Watches’ 70th Anniversary, Chopard proudly presents the captivating L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition. This exclusive 10-piece limited edition timepiece, featuring a mesmerising burgundy red enamel dial, showcases masterful craftsmanship that embodies the spirit of this milestone, reflecting the artistry, precision, and enduring legacy of haute horology that Sincere has championed over the years.

A technical feat first presented to mark Chopard Manufacture’s 25th anniversary in 2021, the L.U.C 98.06-L jumping-hour movement takes centre stage once again in the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition. The four barrels of the exclusive Chopard Quattro technology provides an impressive eight-day power reserve, making this technically sophisticated piece one of the rare jumping-hour watches with this level of extended autonomy. Featuring the L.U.C collection’s characteristically pared-down design, its 40 mm-diameter case in ethical 18-carat white gold frames a burgundy Grand Feu enamel dial, hand-crafted by Chopard Manufacture’s enamellist. From movement to dial, this exceptional timepiece showcases the finest craftsmanship by the Maison’s artisans, ensuring impeccable finishing honoured with the prestigious Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark.

This marks the debut of a burgundy dial in the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 collection, symbolising Sincere’s commitment to fostering an appreciation for the intricate craft of horology. This limited edition reinterprets a celebrated heritage by merging exceptional craftsmanship with bold aesthetics, exemplified by the choice of a striking dial colour. It reaffirms Sincere’s dedication to excellence and its pursuit of timepieces that exemplify the highest levels of craftsmanship and artistry.

Exclusivity and Craftsmanship: a dial produced by Chopard Manufacture’s enamelling Artisan The L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition combines an understated design with the technical boldness characteristic of the L.U.C collection. Its meticulously crafted case in ethical 18-carat white gold features rounded shapes inspired by the hunter-type cases of the pocket watches once designed by Louis-Ulysse Chopard, uniting classic aesthetics with contemporary sophistication.

The timepiece showcases its minutes on a burgundy Grand Feu enamel dial, set against a base of 18-carat white gold. This exquisite dial is entirely handcrafted in-house by Chopard Manufacture’s enamelling artisan. Each colour is fired separately, and once the final layer is applied, a final firing at 800 degrees Celsius bonds the layers together – demonstrating the essence of traditional watchmaking techniques. The use of burgundy enamel presents a unique challenge, requiring the artisan’s exceptional precision as the interplay of light across the surface accentuates its depth and reveals even the finest details. Following this, the dial is lightly polished to achieve a distinctive shine, underscoring the craftsmanship that defines this remarkable timepiece.

A Legacy of Precision and Elegance

The L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 offers a refined interpretation of a horological complication highly esteemed by collectors: the jumping hour. Powered by the L.U.C 98.06-L movement, the timepiece ensures unparalleled precision and reliability. With credit to the four stacked and series-coupled barrels based on the unique Chopard Quattro technology, the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 maintains over 190 hours of autonomy despite the amount of energy required for the instant rotation of the hours disc. This power reserve can be tracked using the indicator engraved on the movement, visible through the exhibition caseback.

The highly complex mechanical movement with manual winding guarantees reliable performance within an overall thickness of just 4.85 millimetres. Equipped with a Phillips terminal curve, the balance spring enhances the regulating organ’s accuracy throughout the movement’s operation—an accomplishment that reflects the artistry of Chopard’s Fine Watchmaking Manufacture. It features a swan’s neck regulator, enabling precise timing of the balance frequency, and fine-tuning the active length of the balance spring. Beyond its technical benefits, this device introduces a sophisticated aesthetic touch to the calibre.

The caseback of the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition reveals intricate detailing, including Sincere’s 70th anniversary logo etched onto the sapphire crystal as a tribute to this milestone. This special touch, and the engraving, ‘One of 10,’ serves as a reminder of the timepiece’s exclusivity and commemorative significance.

Precision: Poinçon de Genève-certified finishing

The meticulous craftsmanship devoted to the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 has earned it the Poinçon de Genève, a hallmark awarded exclusively to select watchmaking creations that meet strict criteria of excellence in artistry and mechanical mastery. This label guarantees not only the quality, precision, and reliability of the movement, but also signifies that the assembly was carried out in the canton of Geneva, the historical cradle of Fine Watchmaking. Its refined features include precise adjustments for wearer comfort and readability, movement bridges embellished with the Côtes de Genève motif, and finely bevelled components—harmonising both aesthetic elegance and technical sophistication.

Sustainability and Innovation

The fine gold used in the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition is entirely ethically sourced, reflecting Chopard’s Journey to Sustainable Luxury and its commitment to sustainability since July 2018. As one of the few Manufactures with its own gold foundry, Chopard oversees its entire value chain, ensuring a sustainable approach to its creations.

Exemplifying a shared commitment to artistry and craftsmanship, this limited edition honours the legacy of horology while serving as a tribute to Sincere’s 70th anniversary, symbolising a partnership that values both heritage and the pursuit of excellence in watchmaking.
