Rado 2024 new watches: Video of novelties + True Square x Kunihko Morinaga
Here is a quick video showing all the novelties which was shown as the First Semester for 2024. The novelties are from the Captain Cook collection in a new olive green matte finished ceramic, the True Round also in full ceramic, the True Square collection in full ceramic in white and tiffany blue-green, including the special collaboration with Kunihko Morinaga, the Diastar (from end 2024), and the new Centrix.
Also shown was Anatom (not in the video), now with three colour options for the dial. .
Our top pick for the novelties is the Rado True Square x Kunihko Morinaga which retails at SGD 4,000 inclusive of GST. The collaboration with Japanese fashion designer resulted in the use of a dial with colour changing material, similar to transition lenses used in spectacle lenses. However, the transition from dark to light takes about an hour, so the wearer can experience the change over time.
Before exposure to UV, the dial is almost totally transparent, and allows for the perlage on the movement to be observed. But on exposure to UV light, it gradually turns dark. And in the process goes through a plethora of hues, and gradually turning to dark. Rather interesting.
The rest of the watch is similar to the other True Square series. The case and bracelet is made of polished black high tech titanium. And the watch carries the calibre R734 automatic movement. Case dimension is 38mm x 44.2mm x 9.7mm in polished black high-tech ceramic, monobloc construction with matching bracelet.
