New: Christiaan van der Klaauw Grand Planetarium Eccentric Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition
The Christiaan van der Klaauw Grand Planetarium Eccentric Sincere Platinum Jubilee Edition retails for SGD 280,000 inclusive of GST. Limited Edition of 3 pieces.
The watch
The base watch is CDVK’s amazing Grand Planeterium Eccentric. The special Sincere Edition may be viewed as a custom version, limited to 3 pieces. So the basics of the full eccentric orbits of all 8 planets in our solar System is depicted in real time. Mercury completing its orbit in just 87.97 days, while Neptune takes 164.80 years. The watch display mirrors this reality as closely as possible. As the planets trace their eccentric orbital paths. The gear reduction is quite amazing. Imagine this: the balance makes 21,600 semi-oscillations every hour, while the slowest planet – Neptune makes one complete revolution around the dial in 164.8 years. And all this in a case measuring only 44mm in diameter. Mind blown!
There are three further special features in the Sincere Edition over the standard. First, the dial features Earth with its single moon, while Jupiter and Saturn are adorned with four moons — two on each side, exclusively displayed for Sincere’s commemorative piece, to symbolise their extensive moon systems, as Jupiter has 92 moons and Saturn boasts 145. Secondly, at the periphery of the dial Zodiac sign indicators are incorporated. This is read in conjunction with the motion of Planet Earth. And third, the Sincere Edition features a very special dial which is an oil painting over metal byartist Gaël Colon.
The movement remains the same as the regular Grand Planetarium Eccentric, but now carries the Sincere Platinum Jubilee logo laser engraved on the sapphire case back.
YouTube video explanation of the novelty
We partnered with Sincere to do a dinner event to show selected collectors the novelty. And though it was only a 3 piece limited edition, two have been spoken for during the dinner. If you are an astronomy buff, you owe it to yourself to take a look at this amazing watch to secure that last piece.
