Previously, we mentioned that in the world of horology, the bond with automobile manufacturers are unbreakable. This time, Casio’s G-Shock have collaborated with Toyota for the Casio G-Shock Mudman Toyota Team Land Cruiser (GW-9500TLC). Both brands are known to create reliable and virtually bullet proof products for it’s end consumers.
The GW-9500 is the third iteration of the Mudman Series. The first two being G-9000/GW-9000 and G-9300/GW-9300. The Mudman sits within the range of Master of G series, the watches in this range is designed to withstand harsh and gruelling conditions that it is being thrown into. The Mudman series of watches is built to resist mud, water and dust.

On the note of mud, water and dust, the collaborator that influenced the design of this limited edition watch is Toyota Team Land Cruiser. This is Team Land Cruiser’s second collaboration with Casio. The GW-9500TLC is designed to commemorate the team’s notable presence in the Dakar Rally. The Dakar Rally is one the most severe and famous rally in the world where it features undeveloped terrain which includes desserts, mountain roads where drivers and their machines have to navigate distances up to 900 KM per day for almost 2 weeks.
In this instance, the Land Cruiser 300 Rally Cars completed the Dakar Rally 2024 with a 1-2 Finish for the 11th Consecutive Victory in the Production Car Category. This is certainly an attestation that the vehicle that is available to the general public is just like the G-Shock Mudmaster, ready to embark on any adventure and coming out of it victorious.
